First off. We want to give a big thank you to everyone who has participated in and offered feedback on Cardmarket grading so far. The community response has far exceeded our expectations and we’re glad we can bring this service to the European TCG marketplace. There’s always room for improvement though, and after collecting around half a year of feedback, we’re ready to take the next step with Cardmarket Grading!
The first thing we’re doing toward this end is expanding access to Cardmarket Grading. Up until now, only EU customers could purchase gradings. Our partners are ready to take on a bigger load though, so we’re expanding the service to the United Kingdom, Norway, and Switzerland as of today, 21 June 2022. We encourage anyone interested in learning more about our grading service to check out our Grading FAQ or this new Insight article, which explains the changes in more detail.
Expanded access to Cardmarket Grading is just the tip of the iceberg though. We have also made a few other improvements, starting with the most commonly requested change – a new label. Check out the new labels in more detail in the insight article referenced above!
That’s not all though! Our partners at Cardmarket Grading have also put a population report online, allowing users to verify and check out Cardmarket Graded cards using the QR code on the back of their Cardmarket graded cards. Cardmarket Grading has also made a few upgrades to the slabs themselves, which now use more scratch-resistant PMMA to improve the surface finish on the slab as well as allow the slab to be a bit slimmer.
Cardmarket is also offering a partial refund for people who want to send their currently graded cards in to be reslabbed. Until the end of the year, users can send in an already graded card and get a 50% back on the price of the grading. Just order your grading normally and then message CM Grading through the Cardmarket messaging feature to let them know you’re getting a card reslabbed and request the refund on the order page. The processing time for reslabbing is a maximum of three working days, excluding shipping time.
Lastly, we’re running a giveaway to celebrate the expansion. If you order a grading (excluding reslabs) before 01 August 2022 for MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragonball Super, Digimon, Flesh and Blood, or the Pokemon TCG, you will be entered into a raffle to win one of the graded cards we’ve featured for that game. For full details and rules on the contest, please consult our new Insight article.
