Changes to Powerseller Requirements

When we introduced Powerseller status, it was a reward to professional sellers who were committed to our platform – both through the number of sales they produced and making sure their buyers were happy with their purchases. They would get a fancy new badge and, as the sellers we chose to elevate, would be unofficial representatives of Cardmarket. This system worked well for all parties when we were smaller, but some changes have become needed to ensure that Powerseller status remains in line with our vision.

As Cardmarket has grown, the number of Powersellers has grown too, and with that growth comes a need for a structured review process to make sure the most deserving professionals are Powersellers. To address this, we are implementing a yearly review process to determine which sellers have earned Powerseller status. For those interested, we’ve put the general requirements we look for below. Please note that these are general requirements. As we finalize our standards, we will update sellers with the specifics:

  • Legal Obligations: We expect all Powersellers to have clear communication in their public profile (About Us, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Revocation). Additionally, we expect Powersellers to be aware of their duties as a business relating to invoicing, refund policies, risk management, shipping to other tax regions, and other related legal obligations

  • Customer Service: Impeccable customer service is a core requirement of Powerseller status. We expect you to honor your contracts as a seller and a buyer. This includes examples where there are significant price changes. You are expected to communicate with international buyers and our Support in English, and we expect that your customers will leave their purchases satisfied, even if there are issues.

  • Sales: Obviously your success on our platform will be a major factor in awarding Powerseller status. We cannot give specific numbers, as they are subject to change each year, but aiming to be one of the top sellers on the platform is a requirement for Powerseller status.

If we determine that a Powerseller doesn’t meet our standards during our yearly review, we will make them regular professional sellers again. We will also reach out to professionals that do meet our standards for promotion. This review will replace the application process, so professionals no longer need to apply for Powerseller status. This also means that promotions will occur only once each year. Sellers can, however, still lose Powerseller status outside of the yearly review if they fail to meet our customer service standards or their legal obligations.

Finally, let’s discuss the perks! In addition to being part of a well-maintained elite group of sellers that users can trust, we will be introducing a dedicated Support “hotline” for Powersellers starting in February next year. This hotline gives Powersellers front-of-the-line access to a select group of support agents when they need Cardmarket's help resolving a dispute.

The first Powerseller review will be held on February 1st, 2026, to give Powersellers time to transition.
