Upcoming Removal of the Playset Feature

Dear Cardmarket Users,

The playset feature was an idea we introduced that met a niche use case for buyers and sellers. Sometimes you just want to buy or sell a playset, and not go through the extra work of making that happen individually. We thought this feature was an effective way to address these cases.

Unfortunately, that wasn't how it worked out. There was a lot of confusion among buyers and sellers about what a "playset" means. This led to problems with orders, where sellers and buyers would have different expectations over what they sold or purchased. Because of this, playset orders generate a massive number of tickets relative to their share of the marketplace and lead to a massive number of canceled, delayed, and refunded orders.

We have decided the best way to deal with that issue is to remove the feature outright, starting by disabling the option to list new playsets on September 9. There is too much room for confusion and we do not have an effective way to regulate playset orders at the point of sale. We understand that this will require an adjustment period, which is why we're announcing this now and give sellers until November 11 to transform their existing playset listings into offers of single cards with the quantity of four.

We thank you for your understanding,

Your Cardmarket Team
